Team Summary
The Visa Healthcare team is charged with leading the sales strategy and commercialization of best-in-class healthcare payment solutions as we seek to meet the growing and increasingly diversified needs of healthcare organizations, payers, providers, and the issuer and fintech clients driving the digitization of payments in the healthcare space. This team will need to understand the end user needs to make sure our offerings, and those of issuers and fintechs resonate. In addition, this team is responsible for building and delivering a go to market strategy inclusive of marketing and sales materials, events, and thought leadership communicating our diverse set of products and services serving this segment across the enterprise.
Position Overview
The VP, Healthcare is a highly experienced and dynamic healthcare payments sales executive. The ideal candidate will be adept driving revenue and setting a sales strategy for the healthcare and insurance sector, engaging credibly and effectively with various stakeholders including financial institutions, health tech, merchants, industry groups, and government entities. The role reports to the SVP, Visa Commercial Solutions for North America, and is a member of their leadership team. In addition, this leader will dotted line into the SVP, Global Large and Middle Market. This leader is instrumental in accelerating business growth in this vertical.
Key Responsibilities
- This leader will be responsible for driving revenue growth by establishing a sales strategy and pipeline across employee benefits, healthcare and insurance, and identify cross sell opportunities for additional Visa solutions.
- Lead the direct team responsible for Employee Benefits and Virtual Card payment product account management and business development.
- Manage client and prospect opportunities solutioning a segment approach across various B2C and B2B payment flows.
- Deliver a US Healthcare go to market and thought leadership strategy including social, media, events, and speaking engagements.
- Serve as the advocate for the customer, collaborating with the product team to develop superior solutions. Gain a thorough understanding of the healthcare sector's needs and challenges related to payments and align this knowledge with Visas capabilities to address or improve our products and solutions.
- Work effectively across multiple stakeholders across the B2B Fintech Partnership and Large Middle Market teams in VCS.
- Manage budget and financial responsibilities

QualificationsBasic Qualifications
12 years of work experience with a bachelors degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD
12+ years experience in sales within a financial institution, consultant or healthcare payments technology company: experience with Treasury operations, working capital and cash management initiatives, Revenue Cycle Management, Epic/EHR implementations and payment collections initiatives
Experience selling products and services in healthcare that involve financial/payments components (e.g., launching plans with supplemental benefits/OTC cards, virtual cards for payer to provider, HSA/FSA products, revamping patient and payments journeys)
Seasoned leader with extensive industry and functional expertise, including sales, business development, contract negotiations, marketing, and sales.
Proven success with sales, consultative selling, and management experience. Strong track record of success in managing, leading, and motivating high performing/ quality teams.
Ability to engage credibly and effectively with healthcare stakeholders
Knowledge of the structure of the industry and the relationships between patients, providers, payers, funders and the government
Adept at executive level presentations, required to be active at industry conferences and thought leadership
Able to navigate a highly matrixed environment
Experience managing hard line and dotted line teams.
Ability to build strong relationships and enable collaboration with large cross-functional teams.
Effective communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally to Visa.
Lead as the Visa Ambassador for Healthcare.
Consistent record of having met challenging financial and business targets.
Proven track record of driving innovation and leading change in successful top tier companies.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 189,000 to 369,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
