, a part of the Pacific Northwest Division of CommonSpirit, is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Board Certified OB/GYN physician to join our esteemed team as the Interim Leader for our Hospital based Obstetrical & Gynecologic Services.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing physician leadership in OB/GYN professional practice with Virginia Mason Franciscan Healths (VMFH) Hospitals and the professional standards of the clinical disciplines. An incumbent is accountable for clinical quality, patient safety and engagement of clinical care providers and is also expected to foster an environment in which teaching, research, and quality improvement are supported. The hospital Medical Director of OB/GYN serves as Medical Director overseeing subspecialized divisions of hospital based OB/GYN Services.

In partnership with the Hospital OB/GYN administrative leader, the Medical Director of OB/GYN will participate in setting the overall direction, goals, and objectives and shall provide input regarding key strategic, clinical, and operational issues for the OB/GYN services. In collaboration with the leaders of the Departments of OB/GYN , and the hospital CMOs, this leader is responsible for providing the leadership to achieve consistent, high-quality care within allOB/GYNVMFH hospital programs, services, and facilities.

Job duties require considerable knowledge of the specialized principles and practices related to the management of an OB/GYN practice and the ability to evaluate and make viable recommendations for improving health care delivery system(s) and enhancing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Also requires knowledge of OB/GYN clinical operations and considerable management expertise relating to strategic planning, process improvement, budget administration and personnel management.

We are a well-established and busy physician and midwife women's health group located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We deliver obstetrical care in five hospitals ranging from 38 beds to 375 beds, in our Washington Market. We have employed and independent groups consisting of OB/GYN physicians, CNMs, MFM, and Family Medicine OB providers. We provide evidenced-based women's healthcare services to Tacoma and surrounding communities.

Our group serves in one of the most rapidly growing areas in the country. Living in the Puget Sound Region provides for active city life, but still offers plenty of outdoor adventures. You can choose between city living and the suburbs.

Qualifications

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • MD or DO, Board Certified
  • Washington State medical license required or eligible
  • DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS for Health Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Successful history of clinical leadership
  • Minimum 7 years of clinical experience

Pay Range
$160.00 - $170.00/hour
