Summary

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for the clinical practice and development of associate-level therapists (AMFTs, ASWs, etc.) at Alliance Medical Center (AMC). This role involves supervising and mentoring trainees and associates in providing high-quality mental health services, including therapy, assessments, and treatment planning. The supervisor will ensure clinical compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting best practices in therapy and professional development.

  • The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor position is grant funded to begin in July 2025.

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide direct supervision to AMFTs, ASWs, and other clinical trainees, ensuring they meet treatment standards and adhere to ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Review clinical cases and documentation to ensure patient care plans and progress align with professional standards.
  • Provide supervision and support for handling high-risk clients or crisis situations, including assessing safety concerns, ensuring compliance with 5150 and other emergency protocols.
  • Ensure therapeutic services provided by supervisees align with evidence-based practices, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. This includes assessing clients, creating treatment plans, and ensuring appropriate documentation is completed.

Some Clinical LCSW OR LMFT duties:

LCSW:

  • Observes and interviews patients and their relevant medical and social case histories in order to formulate plans of treatment with patient including frequency and duration of therapy to be included in Electronic Health Record.
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy to effect symptom reduction and improve overall health; utilizes CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Problem Solving Therapy and supportive Interpersonal Process therapy as needed.

OR

LMFT:

  • Utilize solution-focused therapy strategies to provide mental health services to families, couples, individuals, and children
  • Perform intake and needs assessments for individuals, significant others, and family members through testing, interviews, observations, and conversation sessions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to AMFTs, ASWs, and other clinical trainees, fostering their professional growth and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to supervisees on clinical skills and techniques.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations for supervisees.
  • Assist in preparing AMFTs and ASWs for licensure exams.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or equivalent clinical licensure is required for full supervisor role.
  • AMFT (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist) or ASW (Associate Social Worker) status is required for supervisees.
  • At least 2-3 years of post-licensure clinical experience, with direct patient care and supervision of clinical staff.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision and mentorship to trainees and associates.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Licensed as an LCSW, LMFT, or licensed clinical equivalent required.
  • Certification in additional therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT) is a plus.
  • Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS); in good standing.

Language Skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, preferred but not required.
